Write to your leads
Draft an email from what the audit found, send it from your own mailbox, and keep track of who answered.
Freelancer, Agency and Scale · about 10 min · In the app: Lead opportunities
First, add your signature
On Lead opportunities, fill in your email signature: your name, your business and a postal address. It is added to the end of every draft, followed by a line telling the recipient how to opt out. Anti-spam law in the US and elsewhere requires both, so a draft can't be written without it.
Write a draft
- Press “Draft email” on a lead.
- Choose the kind of email: “First email: what I noticed”, “First email: competitor comparison”, or “Follow-up”.
- Tick “Include a link to the report” if you want the business to see its own audit.
- Press “Write draft” for the standard wording, or “Write with AI” for one written around this business's findings.
- Read it and make it yours. Edit the subject and the message freely; it goes out under your name.
Send it
- From your own email app: press Copy, or “Open in my email app”, and send it as you would any email. Then press “Mark as contacted”.
- From here, through your Gmail: press “Connect Gmail” in the “Send from your own Gmail” box once. After that each draft has a To field and a Send button. The email is sent as you, appears in your Sent folder, and replies come to your inbox.
Limits when sending from here
- One email at a time, after you have read it. There is no bulk send.
- Up to 50 emails a day per workspace.
- The same business can't be emailed from here twice within three days.
- The signature and the opt-out line must still be in the email.
- Only the team's owner and admins can send from the connected mailbox; other members copy the draft into their own.
- We ask Google only for permission to send. We can't read, search or delete your mail.
Keep track
Set each lead's status as things move, from contacted and replied through to meeting booked, won or not interested. Add notes on who you spoke to and when to follow up.
When someone asks not to be contacted, set the status to “Do not contact”. No email can be drafted or sent for that business afterwards.
Your allowance
The monthly allowance counts leads, not drafts: 50 leads on Freelancer, 300 on Agency, unlimited on Scale. Trying a different kind of email for the same lead is free.
